Melissa Goulet, DVM – Medical Director
Dr. Goulet has had a life-long passion for animals and as a young girl she dreamt of becoming a veterinarian. Her early career, however, ended up on a different course. Dr. Goulet attended the University of California at Riverside where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in the Spanish language. She then attended the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C. and, on completion of her law degree, practiced Labor & Employment law in Los Angeles for about 7 years. Although there were many benefits to a career in the law, Dr. Goulet’s dream of becoming a veterinarian was something that she could not ignore.
So, she packed up her family (including 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 human being) and moved to New Zealand, where she attended the AVMA-accredited veterinary program at the Institute of Veterinary, Animal, and Biomedical Sciences at Massey University.
After 5 years in New Zealand, Dr. Goulet returned home to California in 2010, where she has been practicing small animal medicine ever since. Dr. Goulet first practiced in Northern California for a little over 4 years before returning to her roots in Southern California. She then practiced in Temecula for 7 years before purchasing Doctors Pet Clinic in April 2022. Dr. Goulet’s focus is providing the very best in veterinary care to her patients and unsurpassed service to her clients. She is guided by the principles of passion, integrity, excellence and service to her patients, clients, staff, and the community.
Laurie Koorhan, DVM
Dr. Koorhan’s interest in veterinary medicine began as a high school student working in a pet store. In college she attended a class entitled “Veterinary Hospital Practice,” taught at a large veterinary referral practice in Southern California. After completing this course she joined the staff of the hospital, developing her skills as a technician. It soon became clear that a career in veterinary medicine was the path she wanted to take, and from that point on she focused her studies on fulfilling the education and work requirements needed for acceptance into veterinary school.
In 1985, Dr. Koorhan was accepted to the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1989 she graduated and completed an internship program at Coast Pet Clinic of Hermosa Beach, California. There she furthered her knowledge and experience in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, oncology, emergency and general medicine.
In 1991, Dr. Koorhan and her family opened Doctors Pet Clinic in Murrieta, California. In 2004, doors to a beautiful new building opened allowing her practice of medicine to continue to grow, keeping up with new advances in medicine and technology to ensure the very best for your pet.
